Acne is a widespread problem that affects notably teenagers, yet may continue into adult years. Excessive sebum production and clogged pores can lead to bacterial infection resulting in unsightly breakouts which can often be very painful. If unresolved, long term scars may ensue. Acne can hugely affect one's confidence, and is known to cause considerable lost days from school, higher education or work. Many pharmaceutical medications target acne by arresting sebum production.
